Under the supervision and general guidance of Chief Communication, the incumbent will assist section in its task of programme effectiveness through documentation, including writing and editing, and thereby get children’s and women’s issues into the public domain, strengthen political will in support of UNICEF’s mission and objectives in the country, and enhance the organization’s credibility and brand.
How can you make a difference?
1. Communication materials
Ensure that the production of communication products and materials is timely executed and followed up to support country communication strategy, regional and global campaigns and priorities and to support resource mobilization as set out in the work plan including materials in line with the new country programme, and UNICEF Nepal’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
2. Media relations
Effective and timely professional assistance and support are provided to communicate the story of UNICEF’s cooperation to a wider audience.
3. Special events
Actively support and participate in special events related to UNICEF Nepal’s 50th anniversary and activities that further the country programme goals.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
• Minimum of one year practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media.
• Background/familiarity with Emergency situations
• Fluency in English Nepali language is required.
